Atlas welcomed community members and industry leaders to its second annual Breakfast & Benefits seminar, held at Oahu Country Club.
The event featured Hawaiʻi Insurance Commissioner Scott Saiki alongside executives from four of Hawaiʻi’s health insurance carriers: Jenny Smith, President & COO of HMSA; Valerie Wang, Senior Director & Area Vice President at Kaiser Permanente; Darren Nakao, Executive Vice President, COO & Treasurer at UHA Health Insurance; and Eleu Kane, Vice President of Sales at HMAA. Panelists joined together to discuss the state of Hawaiʻi’s healthcare landscape.
Discussion topics included Hawaiʻi’s healthcare market and strategy, workforce and employee expectations, cost drivers and healthcare utilization, access to care and Hawaiʻi-specific challenges, and the growing role of AI and technology in healthcare.
