Restore Honolulu 5.0

As a result of the alarming number of COVID-19 positive cases over the last few weeks, the City and County of Honolulu have taken measures to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Effective Monday, August 3, Mayor Caldwell announced Emergency Order 2020-22 a.k.a. Amended and Restated Restore Honolulu 5.0, which will continue through 3:30 p.m. on August 31, 2020.

This Order requires all individuals anywhere in the City of Honolulu to limit indoor/outdoor social gatherings to less than 10 people, regardless of household living situation. It also restricts funerals and other death related events to ten people. Social distancing best practices of six feet physical distance between people, the wearing of face masks, and the restriction of mingling between separate gatherings, highlight some of the key orders.

Other important orders outlined in Emergency Order 2020-22 include:

  1. New picnic permits will not be issued. Previously approved permits will be honored.
  2. Sporting events permitted by DPR with up to 100 people will continue to be issued with the intent that they are not social gatherings.
  3. Outdoor social gathering limitations apply to all City and County of Honolulu parks
  4. Permit approved camp site designated by the City will continue to be made available
